The 2013 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game Returns to Wrigley Field on August 24th

Baseball Factory Selects the Nation’s Top High School Baseball Players to Showcase Their Talents
on August 24 at Wrigley Field in Chicago

Baltimore, MD – Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE:UA) the Baltimore, MD-based leader in sports performance apparel, footwear and accessories, today announced that the 2013 Under Armour® All-America Baseball Game, powered by Baseball Factory, will be played at Wrigley Field on Saturday, August 24 at 1:30 p.m. CST. This will mark the sixth year of the Under Armour All-America Game.  Additionally, Baseball Factory today announced the first nine players selected to the roster for the game, which will air live nationally on MLB Network and showcase 36 of the best high school players.

The players are selected by a committee of Baseball Factory scouts and will compete in an American vs. National team match-up. The Under Armour All-America Baseball Game is the culmination of a four-day baseball celebration, including a formal workout for Major League Baseball (MLB) scouts and a homerun derby. 12-year Major League Baseball (MLB) veteran Bill Ripken will return as a team manager, while Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. will serve as the official game ambassador.

This year, the first three players selected to the roster were announced on January 18, 2013 during the opening ceremony of the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament,powered by Baseball Factory, in Tucson, Arizona. Additional players will be selected over the next few months, but the following is the roster of the first nine players who have committed to compete in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game:

•    Ryan Castellani – RHP/OF, 6-3, 190, Brophy College Prep, AZ
•    Stone Garrett – OF, 6-2, 185, George Ranch High School, TX
•    Jacob Gatewood – SS/RHP, 6-4, 180, Redwood High School, CA
•    Nicholas Gordon – SS/RHP, 6-1, 167, Olympia High School, FL
•    Alex Jackson – C, 6-2, 210, Rancho Bernardo High School, CA
•    Gareth Morgan – OF, 6-3, 196, North Toronto Collegiate, Canada
•    David Peterson – LHP/1B, 6-6, 205, Regis Jesuit High School, CO
•    Touki Toussaint – RHP/SS, 6-1, 185, Coral Springs Christian, FL

Brady Aiken, Alex Jackson and Gareth Morgan will make history in 2013 as the first players to be two-time participants in the Under Armour All-America Game.  Both Aiken and Jackson competed in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game as rising juniors, while Morgan competed in the 2011 Under Armour All-America Game as a rising sophomore.  Aiken, Jackson and Morgan lead this group of players from the 2014 high school class, who are sure to make their mark on the Under Armour All-America Game, and the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft.

“Every year we scout worldwide to find the best high school players to represent Under Armour and Baseball Factory in the Under Armour All-America Game,” said Steve Bernhardt, Executive Vice President of Baseball Factory and Chairman of the Under Armour All-America Game Selection Committee.  “We are thrilled to choose these nine initial players as we begin the process of filling the 2013 roster.  An extremely talented group, we expect this class to meet or surpass the success that Under Armour All-Americans have found in previous years.”

Over the past five years, 118 of the 138 draft eligible players from the Under Armour All-America Game were selected in the MLB Amateur Draft including 34 first round picks.  Top players that went on to sign professional contracts in 2012 include Byron Buxton (2012 No.2 Overall Pick, Minnesota Twins); Kevin Gausman (2012 No.4 Overall Pick, Baltimore Orioles); Addison Russell (2012 No.11 Overall Pick, Oakland Athletics); Gavin Cecchini (2012 No.12 Overall Pick, New York Mets); Nick Travieso (2012 No.14 Overall Pick, Cincinnati Reds); Deven Marrero (2012 No.24 Overall Pick, Boston Red Sox); Styker Trahan (2012 No.26 Overall Pick, Arizona Diamondbacks); Clinton Coulter (2012 No.27 Overall Pick, Milwaukee Brewers); Lewis Brinson (2012 No.29 Overall Pick, Texas Rangers); and Ty Hensley (2012 No.30 Overall Pick, New York Yankees).
