Royals Name Baseball Factory Instructor Andre David Major League Hitting Coach
As part of an effort to revamp their coaching staff, the Kansas City Royals named Andre David their new Major League Hitting Coach on May 30. David has worked for Baseball Factory as a Hitting Instructor and Tournament Team Coach for the past few off seasons.
“I would expect him to be successful with the Royals,” said Steve Bernhardt, Baseball Factory’s Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations. “He’s done a good job developing the Royals’ young hitting prospects in the last five years. Now he’ll get to work with them at the Major League level.”
“He’s a great person and a good hitting guy,” Bernhardt said of David, in his seventh season with the Royals organization and his fifth as the minor league hitting instructor according to the team’s official website. He also managed the Gulf Coast Royals in 1998, 1999 and the last part of 2000, leading them to a Northern Division title in 1999.
David will continue working with youth and high school players during the off season at various Baseball Factory fall and winter events.
Baseball Factory congratulates Andre David on his promotion and wishes him success in his new position.
