Mattingly Baseball and Baseball Factory enter into strategic partnership to maximize efforts in baseball industry

Mattingly Baseball named as official bat of the Baseball Factory

Mattingly Baseball and Baseball Factory announced today that they have entered into a strategic partnership.  Baseball Factory will name Mattingly Baseball as the official baseball bat of the Baseball Factory.  The three-year contract between the two companies comes as evidence of both Mattingly Baseball and Baseball Factory’s commitment to excellence in the baseball industry.

In addition, Mattingly Baseball will serve as the official baseball bat of the Baseball Express Cape Cod High School Classic.  This game was nationally telecast in 2006 by MLB.com and re-aired on ESPNU.  Mattingly Baseball will also sponsor the Offensive Player of the Game award, presented to the top hitter in the game.

“We are excited to partner with Mattingly Baseball and name them as the official baseball bat of the Baseball Factory,” said Steve Sclafani, CEO and Founder of the Baseball Factory.  “We expect the Mattingly Baseball V-grip? technology to revolutionize the baseball bat industry and we are thrilled to be able to provide our players and coaches with this product.”

Mattingly Baseball has developed the V-grip? technology in an effort to help batters hit the ball on the sweet spot and generate additional bat head speed.  The Mattingly V-Grip? is specifically designed to keep the knocker knuckles aligned and shift the bat away from the palm and into the fingers; thus, correctly “power-loading” your energy and forcing your grip to be in perfect alignment every time you hit the ball.

Known as the nation’s leader in player development and college placement, Baseball Factory hosts over 110 events each year and works with over 4,000 players throughout the country.  Over the company’s 13-year history, over 15,000 players have gone on to play collegiate baseball and over 140 players have reached the major league level.  Baseball Factory acquired Team One Baseball in 2004.

“We are so impressed with the Baseball Factory training program and excited by their vote of confidence to name Mattingly Baseball as their official baseball bat. Our partnership reinforces our belief that within every player lies a great hitter.  With the Mattingly V-Grip? bats you not only get the best technology but you will be trained with the proper technique to become the highest-performing batter you can be,” said Skip Shaw, President of Mattingly Baseball.

Baseball Factory representatives across the country will support Mattingly Baseball marketing efforts at local events and tournaments. Baseball Factory will also begin selecting a Mattingly Baseball Hitter of the Month, starting in January 2007.  All players that attend a Baseball Factory or Team One event will be considered for the award, which will be selected by the Baseball Factory scouting staff based on the player’s offensive performance.  From these monthly winners, the Baseball Factory will award a Mattingly Baseball Hitter of the Year.  All winners will be honored on the Baseball Factory, Team One Baseball and Mattingly Baseball web sites.
