Kell Kulina follows family tradition by signing to play at Jacksonville University

Kell Kulina, son of Baseball Factory Senior Vice President Kelly Kulina, signed his national letter of intent to play baseball at Jacksonville University next year.  Kulina, a senior at Long Reach High School in Columbia, Maryland is a four-year varsity letter winner and four-time PUMA Pre-season All-American.  The 5’11” 160 pound shortstop finished up his high school career with a 15-game hitting streak.  During his senior season he hit .403 with six doubles, one triple and set a school record with 24 stolen bases.  In addition, he was named one of the Top 35 Underclassmen at the 2005 PUMA Pre-season All-American tournament.

Kulina will join the Jacksonville University team, which recently clinched the regular season title in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 23-7 record.  Jacksonville University, with an overall record of 41-15, recently received votes in two of the four major college baseball polls after reaching 35 wins for the first time since 2001.

Kell will be following in his father and uncle’s footsteps when he steps on the field at Jacksonville.  Kelly Kulina (Kell’s father) played at Jacksonville University from 1982-83 and coached there for a season in 1990.  He then went on to coach at the University of Maryland from 1990 – 2001.  Ken Kulina (Kell’s uncle) was a pitcher at Jacksonville University from 1988-89.

We wish Kell the best of luck next year as he begins his career as a Jacksonville Dolphin.
