Dodgertown Christmas Camp and Tournament – December 29th

Another great day of baseball has come to an end at the Dodgertown Christmas Camp and Tournament.  Below are the final scores of all 11 games that were played today:

Bulldogs 10, Gators 11
Dirtbags 5, Sun Devils 8
Hurricanes 11, Tar Heels 9
Cornhuskers 6, Cowboys 4
Longhorns 18, Owls 2
Hurricanes 6, Cavaliers 2
Cardinals 5, Tar Heels 5
Anteaters 11, Sun Devils 5
Dirtbags 7, Beavers 5
Gators 7, Commodores 4

After two days of games, below are the standings:

EAST DIVISION
1. Hurricanes
2. Cardinals
3. Tar Heels
4. Cavaliers

CENTRAL DIVISION
1. Longhorns
2. Cowboys
3. Cornhuskers
4. Owls

WEST DIVISION
1. Dirtbags
2. Anteaters
3. Sun Devils
4. Beavers

SOUTH DIVISION
1. Gators
2. Bulldogs
3. Commodores
4. Tigers

In tomorrow's games, EAST teams will play SOUTH teams and CENTRAL teams will play WEST teams (i.e. The first place Hurricanes of the EAST will play the first place Gators of the SOUTH).

Just as they have done the two previous days, all players have shown great energy and enthusiasm.  Although it would be impossible to mention all the great performances we've seen today, below are just a few highlights:

HURRICANES
Cass Abercrombie (Louisville, AL): In a two-game span, Cass went 5 for 6 with 5 RBI's.
Chris Bretton (Jacksonville, FL): Chris had 3 RBI's and a HR.

CAVALIERS
Joe Couch (Ellicott City, MD): Joe had an outstanding showing on the mound and also hit an RBI single.
Christopher Ferriggi (N. Bellmore, NY):  Ferriggi made great defensive plays at shortstop.

CARDINALS
Chris Ellis (Macon, GA): The patient lefty hit an RBI single to tie the game vs. the Tar Heels.

TAR HEELS
Wade Cervenka (Windfield, IL) hit a HR.  Luis Pollorena (Laredo, TX) and Sean Embry (Leitchfield, KY) also had strong offensive days.

BULLDOGS
Cameron Griffin (Jonesboro, GA) : Cameron had 3 hits and 4 RBI's and also closed the game for the Bulldogs.

GATORS
Bryan Kloppe (Buckeye, AZ): Bryan went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's.
Caleb Korogianos (Hilliard, OH): Caleb went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles.
The Gators have come from behind to win all 3 of their games.

TIGERS
Chris Graves (Simi Valley, CA): Chris went 1 for 3 and scored both runs in their game vs. the Commodores.
Shaun Flynn (Tabernacle, NJ): Shaun pitched 3 scoreless innings.

DIRTBAGS
Drew Leibert (Lutherville, MD): The RHP pitched 4 strong innings with 1 unearned run vs. the Sun Devils.
Jordan Shupe (Middletown, DE): Jordan's triple scored the go ahead run over the Beavers.

SUN DEVILS
Keith Poverud (Coweta, OK): Keith had a strong 6 for 7 day in addition to throwing an opponent out at home from centerfield.

CORNHUSKERS
Jesse Friedman (Rego Park, NY) and Tony Roegiers (Marlboro, NJ) were both contributors offensively.
Christian Powell (Greenwood, SC) threw 83-88 mph on the mound.

OWLS
Hestand Foster (Waxahachie, TX): The catcher has hit 2 triples and thrown out 2 attempted steals at second base.

LONGHORNS
Matt Jackson (Great Mills, MD): Matt had quality at bats as well as a couple great plays at first base.
John Locascio (Blackwood, NJ): Threw well on the mound today.

We hope that we see even more outstanding play in the final games tomorrow!
