Baseball Factory alumni played a major role in the outcome of the April 29th

Baseball Factory alumni played a major role in the outcome of the April 29th game between
the University of Richmond and George Washington University. With seven Baseball Factory
players on the Richmond roster and four on the George Washington roster, it was inevitable
that they would have an impact in this game.

But did anyone expect this big an impact?

The game ended with an 11-10 Richmond victory. Tim Rice, a 2001 Baseball Factory All-American,
got the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

Nearly all of the other Factory alums made their impact with the long ball. George Washington was
powered by two home runs and five RBIs off the bat of 1B Jeff Fertita. Fertita originally attended a B.A.T.S.
video scouting session in Richmond, VA. Richmond got home runs from Adam Tidball
(Exclusive Player, 2000 Baseball Factory All-American), John Cronin (Yale Field B.A.T.S.
player, 2001 Baseball Factory All-American), Chris Dolan (1998 Skylands Park B.A.T.S.
Player) and Michael Galligan (Exclusive Player, transfer from Arizona State). Dolan
and Galligan hit solo HRs in the ninth inning that proved to be the tying and winning
runs.

Surprisingly absent from the HR list was Richmond 1B and former Baseball Factory
All-American Vito Chiaravalloti (Skylands Park B.A.T.S. Player). Vito, who came into the
game with a team-leading 14 HRs went 1 for 5 in the game.

Congratulations to all of the former Baseball Factory players who helped their
respective teams during this outstanding Division I baseball game.
