Arundel High School Dominates Baseball Factory’s High School Invitational

Arundel High School (Gambrills, MD) claimed the title in Baseball Factory’s third annual Tournament of Champions High School Invitational.


Led by the efforts of Tournament MVP Brian MacCormick and Team MVP Joe Zimmerman, the Arundel Wildcats defeated Shenendehowa High School (Clifton Park, NY) and Steinert (Hamilton Township, NJ), after a first round bye, to secure a place in the finals.


Matched against Gloucester Catholic (Gloucester City, NJ), Arundel came out victorious with a score of 11-3. Leading the Cats offensively were Zimmerman with two hits and MacCormick with a single and a homerun. Chris Wuthrich and Jeremy Moreland shared the duties on the mound.


Thomas Johnson High School (Frederick, MD), Old Mill High School (Millersville, MD), St. Paul’s School for Boys (Brooklandville, MD) and Archbishop Spalding High School (Severn, MD) also participated in the tournament which took place in Maryland April 15-17, 2004.


Team MVP’s included Zimmerman (Arundel); Joe Sacerodote (Gloucester Catholic); Alex Buchholtz (Old Mill); Steven Bernstorf (St. Paul’s); Scott Rader (Shenendehowa); and Matt Fryczynski (Steinert).
