Men’s NCAA College World Series Super Regional Matchups Set

CWS_LogoThe Super Regionals are set for the 2015 Men’s College World Series and there has been exciting finishes leading into what should be a fantastic College World Series Championship Series at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska, starting on June 13th.

Late into the night on the West Coast, the Maryland Terrapins knocked off the top-seeded UCLA Bruins by a score of 2-1 to advance to the Super Regionals against the Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia outlasted USC, San Diego State and then USC again to advance to play the Terrapins, who are making their fourth ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Maryland faced elimination after the Bruins won Game 2 by a score of 4-2 to set up the rubber match in Los Angeles.

The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated Oral Roberts, Oklahoma State and St. John’s to advance on to face Missouri State, who took care of Canisius and Iowa twice by scores of 5-3 and 3-2.

The Miami Hurricanes dispatched FIU and Columbia who they had to defeat twice after Columbia took the second game by a score of 3-0 to set up the deciding third game. The Hurricanes easily took care of Columbia, winning 21-3 to move on to face upstart, VCU, who beat Dallas Baptist, Oregon State and then Dallas Baptist again in the deciding third game, 3-1.

The Florida State Seminoles advanced to the next round by beating Mercer and Charleston twice by scores of 3-2 and 8-1 in the deciding game. They’ll face interstate rival, the Florida Gators, who beat Florida A&M, South Florida and Florida Atlantic to advance.

LSU moves on after beating Lehigh and UNC-Wilmington twice by scores of 2-0 to play Louisiana-Lafayette who beat powerhouse programs Rice and Houston to advance to the next round.

Texas A&M beat Texas Southern, Coastal Carolina and California twice to advance to play TCU who took care of Sacred Heart, Stony Brook and then North Carolina State twice to move onto the Super Regionals.

The Fighting Illini’ of Illinois defeated Ohio, Notre Dame and Wright State to face off against Vanderbilt University who defeated Lipscomb, Indiana and Redford by a score of 21-0 to advance.

The University of Louisville defeated Morehead State and Michigan twice by scores of 4-3 and 13-4 to take on Cal State Fullerton, winner of four national championships, defeating Pepperdine, Arizona State and then Pepperdine again by a score of 10-1 to advance.
