The Panthers capped off an incredible season, finishing with the top rank at 34-2 overall and 15-1 in league play in the 6A division, according to MaxPreps. With victories of 3-0 and 8-1 over Walton in the Georgia Boys Baseball State Championship on May 23, the Panthers captured a state title and a number of Baseball Factory standouts were major contributors to this year’s club.
Austin Biggar, a junior on the Panthers, participated in a Under Armour Baseball Factory Premium Video Program in Peachtree City, GA back in 2013, as well as being part of the Under Armour Showcase: Team One South event in July 2014.
Biggar, one of the team’s power hitters, batted .370 this season, hitting 11 home runs which tied for the team lead and his 48 RBI led the team, playing in 36 games.
Brandon Hill, a senior who has committed to Chattahoochee Valley Community College, attended a National Tryout in Birmingham, AL in 2014 and participated in the 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Team One South event.
Hill has been right there with his teammate Biggar, leading the way offensively for the Panthers this season. He led the team in runs scored with 44, hitting .354, tying for the team lead in homers with Biggar (11), to go along with 37 RBI and a team-leading 1.334 OPS. He also stole a team leading 19 bases.
Another senior on a veteran team, Daino Deas participated in a Premium Video Program in Atlanta in 2012, he was then named a 2013 Under Armour Pre-Season All-American and selected to participate in the Under Armour Futures East event in Jupiter, FL in 2013.
Deas, who has committed to Auburn University led the Panthers in batting average (.410) while scoring 43 runs, with eight doubles, four triples and 11 stolen bases. Deas also drew 21 walks, while also leading the team in on-base percentage at .496.
Trevor Brown, a Kennesaw State commit, put together a nice offensive senior season, batting .368 with nine doubles, three homers and 24 RBI while stealing 16 bases, which was good for second-most on the Panthers. Brown participated in an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout in Atlanta back in October of 2012.
Brian Kregel, a junior, also participated in a National Tryout in Kennesaw, GA in June of 2013. Kregel will build upon this season’s success as a senior next year after hitting .262 with six doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI in 32 games.
We wish the players success as they continue their baseball careers and also to the Parkview Panthers for a successful championship season!
