This season, the Fresno Grizzlies are the new Triple-A affiliate for the Astros, and Hoes has been on fire, hitting a team leading .345, with 13 doubles, a triple, two homers and 20 RBI in 30 games.
Phillippe Aumont – (Cape Cod High School All-Star Game 2006) Aumont, from Quebec, Canada, was drafted 11th overall in 2007 by the Seattle Mariners and part of the trade that sent Cliff Lee to Seattle and Aumont a major piece, to the Philadelphia Phillies.
He’s had stints the last three seasons with the Phillies, appearing in 45 games out of the bullpen, but he finds himself at Triple-A Lehigh Valley here in 2015, appearing in nine games and starting five with a 1.38 ERA in 39.0 innings pitched.
College
Donnie Dewees – (2012 Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U) Dewees is a redshirt sophomore for the University of North Florida after being limited to just 12 games in 2014 with injury.
He bounced back in a big way in ’15, leading the Ospreys with a .428 batting average, 81 runs, 17 home runs, 66 RBI and a .754% slugging percentage. Dewees was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week three times this season, as well as being named to the Pre-Season All-Conference Team.
The Ospreys currently have a 43-14 overall record and 24-7 at home and face Jacksonville in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
Taylor Clarke – (Under Armour Baseball Factory Premium Video Program) Clarke is the ace of the College of Charleston’s pitching staff and got the nod to start in their Colonial Athletic Association conference tournament opener on Thursday.
Clarke finished the season with a 12-1 record and a 1.46 ERA with a school record 126 strikeouts. He was recently named as one of 30 potential players for the Golden Spikes Award Watch List, which recognizes potential candidates for the top amateur baseball player in the country.
High School
Bryan Hoeing – (2014 Under Armour All-American) Hoeing, the former All-American, has battled back early from ACL surgery after suffering an injury during basketball season.
Hoeing has won two games as a senior for Batesville High School in Indiana and during his last outing, tossed a complete game with 11 strikeouts, sporting a fastball that has been in the low 90’s. 10 innings overall and only three hits allowed, zero earned runs and 15 strikeouts.
Austin Riley – (2014 Under Armour All-American) Riley is having a tremendous season for DeSoto Central High in Hernando, Mississippi in 2015 with a .436 batting average, 29 runs scored, 14 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs and 31 RBI.
He’s also getting it done on the mound as well, leading his team with seven wins, a 2.70 ERA and 82 strikeouts in just 59.0 innings pitched. Riley’s fastball sits comfortably in the low 90’s and has an excellent feel for his breaking ball and shows good poise on the mound. Riley has committed to Mississippi State University.
