3 Baseball Factory Alumni Named Future Franchise Faces By MLB.com

MLB.com’s Richard Justice has released a list of five Top Prospects who are primed to be future faces of their franchise, and Baseball Factory is proud to have three alumni among the group.

Listed No. 1 is Minnesota Twins prospect, Byron Buxton, who at 21 years of age has been named the top prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com two consecutive years.

Under Armour All-American GameIt all started for Byron as a participant in the 2011 Under Armour All-America Game, batting lead off and playing centerfield for the National Team. It was evident throughout the event that Buxton was an exciting prospect and deserved top billing and just two years later, he was playing in the All-Star Futures Game as a 19-year-old.

The former second overall pick in the 2012 Draft is without a doubt a legitimate 5-tool prospect and looks to bounce back after playing in only 31 games in 2014 battling an assortment of injuries.

He has the skill set to transform the Minnesota Twins, becoming a cornerstone for the franchise for years to come.

Coming in at No. 2 on the list is Chicago Cubs top prospect, third baseman, Kris Bryant.

Bryant impressed scouts at the 2008 Under Armour All-America Game with his bat, showing as the most advanced hitter at the event.

Viewed as a big time piece in the renaissance of the Cubs, Bryant’s bat projects well as a corner infielder, slugging 43 home runs in 2014 (between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa) which led all of the minor leagues.

Defensively, he’s just as solid and could even play the outfield because of his range and arm. The 2nd overall pick in the 2013 Draft is as athletic as they come, and shouldn’t find himself in the minors too long. He seems ticketed for the north side of Chicago in 2015.

Francisco-Lindor Perhaps the most exciting defensive prospect comes in at No. 4 on the list, Cleveland Indians propsect, Francisco Lindor.

Lindor has Gold Glove potential for years to come, but it was his bat that made people take notice in 2014. The pop in the bat has appeared, hitting a career-high 11 home runs.

He has 30 doubles-potential on an annual basis according to MLB.com, continuing to refine his ability to drive the ball to the gaps and utilize his speed. On the base paths, he’s instinctive, as he stole 28 bases between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus last season.

The switch-hitting, 8th overall pick in the 2011 Draft hasn’t been above his head at each stop he’s made in the minor leagues, being one of the youngest to play at each level. He has a bright future, long-term for the Cleveland Indians at short stop.
