Baseball Factory Alumni Get the Call of a Lifetime

The 2013 season marked the Major League debut for 30 Baseball Factory alumni. These players made their respective debuts for 20 different teams. Leading the way were the Arizona Diamondbacks, with four former Baseball Factory players making their debuts including: Charles Brewer, Matt Davidson, David Holmberg, and Chris Owings.  A few additional organizations called on multiple Baseball Factory alumni this season, including the Atlanta Braves and the Seattle Mariners.

Zach Wheeler, a 2009 1st round draft pick, made his Major League debut with the New York Mets earlier this season.  Wheeler originally signed with the San Francisco Giants but was traded to the New York Mets in 2011.  In his debut, Wheeler pitched six scoreless innings, striking out seven in a win over Atlanta.  Wheeler first showed his potential as a high school standout in the 2008 Under Armour All-America Game.

Matt Davidson, the 35th overall pick in the 2009 draft, also made his Major League debut earlier this year.  Davidson was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009 and got the call to fill in at third against the Mets.  Prior to being drafted, Davidson participated in many Baseball Factory Events including the Under Armour National Tryout and Team One West Showcase.

Ian Krol was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 7th round of the 2009 draft.  This past January Krol was traded to the Washington Nationals and made his debut in June as a relief pitcher.  In his first outing Krol pitched a scoreless inning, striking out three.  Krol is an alumnus of the 2008 Under Armour All-America Game.

Baseball Factory would like to congratulate all 30 alumni on getting the call this season and we wish them continued success at the MLB level! For a complete list of Baseball Factory alumni who made their Major League debut:
