ESPN Analyst Steve Phillips to Speak at Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament, powered by Baseball Factory
Baseball Factory is pleased to announce that Steve Phillips current ESPN Analyst and former General Manager of the New York Mets will be speaking during the opening ceremonies for the 2009 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament.
Steve Phillips works primarily as a game analyst during ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball and as a Baseball Tonight studio analyst. However, Phillips regularly appears on SportsCenter, Cold Pizza, Outside the Lines and ESPN Radio. He also writes frequently for ESPN.com. Before moving to ESPN, Phillips was the General Manager for the New York Mets from 1997-2003. In those seasons he helped take the Mets to two consecutive post-season appearances including the World Series when they faced the cross town rival New York Yankees in 2000.
Steve Phillips was drafted in 1981 out of high school in the fifth round and signed with the New York Mets. He ended his playing career in 1988 with the Detroit Tigers.
