TOP TOOLS Miami, FL

EVENT DATE: 1/27/2008

LOCATION: Barry University, Miami Shores, FL

For every SCR | Under Armour Tryout Event throughout the United States & Canada Baseball Factory Scouts will be selecting a Top Prospect, Top Underclassmen (When applicable), & additional players who showed at minimum one plus tool.

TOP PROSPECTS
Vincent Kossak | 2009 | OF | 6’0/162 | Trinity Christian Academy (FL) HS – Kossak showed awesome measurables with a 6.2 60 and 91 mph on the radar. The foot speed translated to OF play as he showed great range, angles, and could flat out go get the baseball. At the plate he flashed well above avg power, but he needs a little more fluidity – which should help his overall ability to use the entire field. Vincent is a legit prospect who has a high ceiling.

Eric Acevedo | 2009 | 2B | 5’9/176 | American Heritage (FL) HS – Wow! Eric is a smooth fielding 2B that has plenty of arm strength to play the left side. He is a 6.7 runner that has quick feet and explosive lateral movement. He works with a line drive approach and good bat speed from the plate. A good “baseball player” and a legit D1 prospect.

TOP TOOLS

Below is a list of additional players that we would like to recognize for their performances at the session.

Please Note:  Many players are selected for our Under Armour National
Tournament and Training Camps that do not appear on the Top Tools list.  The
Tournament and Training Camp selections take into consideration the player’s
entire performance and how the scouts feel they will perform in a National
setting.  There are a number of instances where our strongest overall
baseball players do not appear on the Top Tool lists.  A player might have
3 or 4 good tools, but none that are outstanding so his name does not appear
in this section, however he might be selected for one of our National
Tournaments because of his overall skill level.

The Top Tools were selected by Jim Gemler (Director of On-Field Sessions | Scouting Coordinator).
