Three Factory hurlers combined to shut down the Blackhawks.  Mark Silverthorn (El Paso, TX), Toby Fox (Manteca, CA), and Austin Au Buchon (Trinity, FL)  struck out 5 and allowed 5 hits in the victory.  Tony Montalbano’s sweet left handed swing yielded 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, while Kevin McEntee (San Mateo, CA) and Toby Fox each had a hit and combined to score 3 runs and drive in 3.

Featured Players
Wesley Arrington (Grand Prairie, TX) led a strong pitching performance tossing 4 scoreless frames and Billy Butler (Kingman, AZ) shut the door by pitching a scoreless 7th inning.  There were many stars on the offensive side.  A two out rally in the 5th inning yielded 5 runs with key hits coming from Cale Tassi (Presque Isle, WI), Mike Schatzman (Sewell, NJ), and Chris Graves (Simi Valley, CA).  The Black team played with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and energy as they appeared to really gel as a group.

In tonight’s College World Series play, The Oregon State Beavers took one step closer to repeating as National Champions by winning game 1 over UNC, 11-4.  Six Baseball Factory and Team One alumni are participating in the CWS for Oregon State including Scotty Berke, Brian Budrow, Kyle Foster, Jordan Lennerton, Ryan Ortiz, and 2007 9th Round pick, Mike Stutes.  These players participated in Baseball Factory National Tryout Programs (now called Under Armour National Tryouts), the BATS Program (now called Signature College Recruiting Program), and Team One Regional and National Showcases.   If Oregon State can hold off the Tar Heels, they will be the first team to repeat as National Champions since LSU accomplished the feat in 1996-1997.  Our teams will be in attendance at Rosenblatt Stadium to watch the action tomorrow night.
