FungoMan Inc. Debuts Automated Baseball Practice Machine at Team One Midwest Regional Showcase in Cincinnati Practice machine empowers coaches and players to maximize showcase practice time

Cincinnati, OH – July 8, 2006 – An automated baseball practice machine that can be programmed to fire grounders, fly balls, line drives, short hops, or whatever a coach needs made it’s way to the University of Cincinnati this past week for the 2006 Team One Midwest Regional ShowcaseRomy Cucjen, president of the Shreveport, Louisiana based company FungoMan Inc. rolled out their portable machine to home plate with one mission – send consistent groundballs to outfielders and infielders for the defensive workouts.

“In a showcase atmosphere, consistency in the workouts is critical for scouts and recruiters to measure athletes fairly,” Cucjen stated.  “Team One has sent over 130 players to the major leagues, and the reason players continue to attend these events is because Team One is committed to giving players the best opportunity to showcase their ability in front of college recruiters and professional scouts.  We believe that FungoMan enhances a player’s opportunity because of the machine’s consistency.  Each infielder receives the same backhand groundball.  Each player has the assurance to know that he will be tested exactly like every other player at the event.”

Team One events are extremely organized and schedules follow a stringent timeline.  Scouts and coaches don’t want dead time…they want to evaluate players in an orderly, efficient practice setting.  FungoMan is very accurate and predictable, and help make workouts run even faster and smoother.

The Texas Rangers, like Team One, believe in using technology to improve their athletes. The Rangers, who purchased a machine in February, use FungoMan year-round.  The Arizona Rookie League team is currently using FungoMan at their Spring Training site in Surprise, AZ.

Team One continues to strive towards bringing excellent events where players can showcase their talent.  “We’re not afraid to think out of the box,” said Mac Seibert, Director of Team One.  “If we can use the FungoMan technology to help players, scouts and recruiters, and make our event run more efficiently, I’m all for it.”

“Our goal is to manufacture machines that will empower coaches and players to be the best they can be,” said Cucjen.  “A coach’s creativity and ability to maximize practice time will drive this machine’s usefulness to new levels.”

Team One is the first company to incorporate the FungoMan automated baseball practice machine into the showcase setting.  Don’t be surprised to see it at many future Team One events.
