Four-time PUMA All-American shines during his senior year
Baseball Factory player Alex Swenson, from Mount Vernon, Virginia is having an outstanding senior year, marked by a recent stretch during which he hit three home runs in the span of four games. During that four game span he hit .538 with a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.385 slugging percentage. On the season he is batting over .400 with a .561 OB% and a .824 SLG%.
Swenson, a senior at Mount Vernon High School, is a 4-year starting varsity catcher and has caught every game of his high school career. In 2005, as a junior, Swenson batted .429, with 30 hits, 6 doubles, 23 runs scored, 16 RBI, 16 walks, producing an OB% of .567, a SLG% of .586, and an OPS% of 1.153. He also stole 6 out of 7 bases, and had only 1 error in 187 chances, generating a fielding percentage of .995. Swenson recently signed a scholarship and National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 baseball at Jacksonville University in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
This past January, Swenson was the first player to be named to the Baseball Factory/PUMA Pre-season All-American team four years in a row.
