As Baseball Factory grows, two long-time employees receive promotions

While Baseball Factory continues to gain momentum as the leading player development and college placement service in the nation, constant changes are underway to ensure its players receive top-notch service and guidance.  Two long time members of Baseball Factory’s staff recently received promotions that will further their influence on the maturing company.

CEO Steve Sclafani and President Rob Naddelman recently named Steve Bernhardt the Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations.

“Steve is the ultimate professional. He has been with us for six years and has elevated our baseball operations team to the finest in the country.  He has the utmost respect from his staff which includes current professional players, coaches and scouts,” said Naddelman.

Bernhardt joined the Factory in 1998 after a five-year playing career with the Colorado Rockies.  As the Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations, Bernhardt will continue to oversee all Baseball Factory events as well as the player development staff.

Bernhardt’s team includes Director of Scouting Andy Ferguson, former collegiate player at North Carolina State University; Director of On-field Instruction Matt Schilling, former collegiate player at Coastal Carolina University; Baseball Operations Coordinator Dan Mooney, former professional player; and Director of On-field Sessions Jim Gemler, former college coach.

“Steve does a tremendous job handling the entire player development staff,” said Sclafani. “His promotion to a Senior Vice President will further his role in leading the company.”

Baseball Factory is modeled after a major league baseball organization with regional reps dispersed throughout the country. Currently Baseball Factory’s roster consists of twenty-five full time members at its headquarters in Columbia, Maryland and six regional reps stationed in California, Pennsylvania, Florida and Rhode Island. Baseball Factory anticipates more regional offices in its future.

One of Baseball Factory’s fastest growing ventures is the Exclusive Program led by Kelly Kulina, former Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Maryland, College Park.  Kulina was appointed Vice President of the Exclusive Program after more than three years with Baseball Factory. Previously Kulina served as the Exclusive Program Director and is responsible for much of its success.

“Kelly has been with us for almost four years and has completely transformed the Exclusive Program,” said Naddelman.  “His contacts, recruiting knowledge and patience have helped our Exclusive parents and players reach their dreams of playing college baseball.”

The comprehensive, hands-on recruiting program boasts a 100% placement rate over its tenure. This year alone, Baseball Factory placed over forty Exclusive players into colleges across the country including the U.S. Naval Academy, Brown University and Johns Hopkins University.

Naddelman and Sclafani will look to Kulina to bring the Exclusive Program to even greater heights.

“As an officer, Kulina will have a strong influence on the direction we take the company in the future. We respect and value his opinion and we have no doubt that he will be instrumental in getting us where we want to go,” said Sclafani.
