Michael Lindsey
Petal High, Mississippi
Petal, MS – Petal High had a 33-5 season and all-around play of sophomore outfielder Michael Lindsey was an important part of the success.
“He’s strong in all phases of the game,” says Coach Larry Watkins. “He has a strong arm and good speed.
“Michael’s all around skills are advanced for a sophomore.”
The 5-10, 170 pound switch-hitter had a team-high .435 average. He had ten doubles, a homerun and 27 RBI. Lindsey struck out only seven times in 92 at-bats.
“He is a very good contact hitter,” Watkins said of Lindsey, who was moved from the No. 6 spot to third in the petal line-up.
Lindsey was the only sophomore position starter for Petal.
“He works really hard and gives his best every game,” praised Watkins.
