Vienna, VA – The Riffee brothers have made a huge impact on James Madison High’s baseball teams and the best may be ahead.
While Matt Riffee will be winding up his four-year starting career this season his younger brother, Mark, is in his second season as a sophomore starter.
Mark had a big freshman year for the Warhawks.
He batted .366, scored 14 runs and was six for eight in stolen bases.
“He is a tremendous outfielder,” said Coach Mark Gjormand. “We will pitch him some this year, too.”
The left-hander will join his brother on the mound. Matt was 6-1 for the 44-4 Warhawks.
“Mark is everything you want in a player and person,” Gjormand said of the prize sophomore, who has a 4.0 GPA.
