Instructors making impact not only with Baseball Factory players, but also with Major League clubs

Baseball Factory instructors have always had a great impact on the development of young players as they pursue their dreams to play college baseball. However, many of these instructors are now starting to make a difference in another way.

Baseball Factory instructors Clint Hurdle, Alan Cockrell, Rick Bauer, Jayson Werth, and Matt Duff are all making valuable contributions to their Major League teams.

Clint Hurdle and Alan Cockrell, the manager and hitting instructor with the Colorado Rockies, have helped turn the team around and are steadily building towards the future. Since Hurdle was named manager and Cockrell was named hitting coach on April 26, the team has gone 55-51, up through their 10-4 win against the New York Mets on August 23.

Rick Bauer has become one of the top relievers coming out of the Baltimore Orioles bullpen and has developed as a fan favorite. Bauer leads all Orioles relievers with 69.1 innings pitched and is tied for third on the team with six wins on the season. Bauer has worked with numerous Baseball Factory pitchers to help them prepare for the collegiate and pro level.

Congratulations to Jayson Werth and Matt Duff who were recently called up to the show.

Toronto Blue Jays Catcher and Baseball Factory instructor Jayson Werth got his first Major League hit during a 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees on September 1. Werth’s single started a three run rally in the seventh inning that propelled the Blue Jays to victory. Werth went on to single later in the game, going 2-4 with a run scored in his Major League debut.

Middle reliever Matt Duff has been called up to assist the St. Louis Cardinals as they battle to grab a spot in the post season. Duff has made seven appearances and has compiled a 4.76 ERA. Duff is one of Baseball Factory’s top instructors.

Baseball Factory is very proud of the accomplishments that its staff has made. These five players and coaches are just some of the many valued instructors helping Baseball Factory players succeed.
