2018 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game Date and First Five Players Announced

Baseball Factory has recruited top high school talent for the 11th annual game in Chicago, Illinois on July 20th 

Columbia, MD (April 12, 2018) – Today, Baseball Factory announces the date of the 2018 Under Armour® All-America Baseball Game, powered by Baseball Factory, as well as the names of the first five players selected for the event. The 11th annual event, played at iconic Wrigley Field on Friday, July 20th, brings together the top 40 high school players in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. MLB Network will televise the game for the ninth time on Sunday July 21 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a committee of Baseball Factory scouts and will compete in an American vs. National team match-up. The Under Armour All-America Baseball Game caps off a three-day, all-encompassing baseball experience staffed by some of the game’s very best players and coaches, including a formal workout in front of Major League Baseball (MLB) scouts and a home run derby.

Below are the first five players who have committed to compete in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game:

Hunter Barco— LHP, 6’4, 210 – The Bolles School, Jacksonville, FL

Logan Britt— OF, 6’4, 210 – All Saints Episcopal, Benbrook, TX

Riley Greene— OF, 6’2, 190 – Hagerty HS, Oviedo, FL

Rece Hinds— OF, 6’2, 195 – Niceville Senior HS, Niceville, FL

Bobby Witt, Jr.—IF, 6’1, 185 – Colleyville Heritage HS, Colleyville, TX

We are very excited to have the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game back at historic Wrigley Field for the 11th consecutive year,” said Steve Bernhardt, Executive VP at Baseball Factory and Chairman of the Under Armour All-America Game Selection Committee. “Our Baseball Factory scouts continue to search for the best players throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be part of this game, and these first five invited players are certainly deserving of the honor. Last year’s MLB Draft saw two former Under Armour All-Americans go in the first two overall selections, and we look forward to watching this talented group play in July.”

Since the game’s inception in 2008, 284 of the 323 draft eligible players from the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game, powered by Baseball Factory, have been selected in the MLB Amateur Draft including 83 first-round picks. Top players from the 2017 draft include: Royce Lewis (2017 No. 1 Overall Pick, Minnesota Twins); Hunter Greene (2017 No. 2 Overall Pick, Cincinnati Reds); Jo Adell (2017 No. 10 Overall Pick, Los Angeles Angels); Shane Baz (2017 No. 12 Overall Pick, Pittsburgh Pirates); Nick Pratto (2017 No. 14 Overall Pick, Kansas City Royals); Heliot Ramos (2017 No. 19 Overall Pick, San Francisco Giants); David Peterson (University of Oregon | 2013 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game | 2017 No. 20 Overall Pick, New York Mets); DL Hall (2017 No. 21 Overall Pick, Baltimore Orioles); Alex Lange (LSU | 2013 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game | 2017 No. 30 Overall Pick, Chicago Cubs)
