2009 UNDER ARMOUR PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICA TOURNAMENT HONORABLE MENTION – 2010 GRADUATES

Over the next week, Baseball Factory will be announcing the top 2009 & 2010 graduates from the Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament.  The event was full of talent and as such, we will be identifying a Top 10 list for each graduation year, and additional prospects that received honorable mention.  

 
Below is the list of 2010 graduates that deserved honorable mention based on their performance at the event. Players are listed alphabetically.
 
Ryan Albert – 3B, 5-11/170, L/R, 2010, Newport Harbor HS – Newport Beach, CA
A two-way talent that featured left handed raw power along with an 88 mph fastball and a sharp breaking ball up to 76.
 
Josh Anderson – 3B/RHP, 6-0/205, R/R, 2010, Poway HS – Poway, CA
Showed four, well above average tools, only speed lacks for this young player. 84-87 fastball, along with a solid curve and change.
 
Brandon Drury – SS, 6-1/180, R/R, 2010, Grants Pass HS – Grants Pass, OR
A natural offensive talent with a pure right handed stroke. Showed arm strength and body control defensively. 
 
Zane Evans – C/RHP, 6-3/210, R/R, 2010, Roswell HS – Roswell, GA
A strong, physical catcher with right handed raw power and arm strength. Fastball up to 88. Verbally committed to Auburn University.
 
Greg Greve – RHP, 6-2/185, R/R, 2010, Walsh Jesuit HS – Brecksville, OH
Showed good feel for a solid change, and good command of fastball up to 89. Curve showed makings of tight, sharp downward action.
 
James Harris – SS, 6-1/190, L/R, 2010, Etowah HS – Woodstock, GA
An athletic and talented all around player with usable tools and a good feel for the game. 
 
Evan Hilton – OF/LHP, 5-10/165, S/L, 2010, Woodland HS – Cartersville, GA
An athletic player with two-way potential. Showed a strong, accurate outfield arm along with 6.93 speed. 83-86 fastball.
 
Taylor Kaczmarek – OF/1B, 6-2/210, R/R, 2010, Desert Ridge HS – Mesa, AZ
A projectable corner player with raw power and a live right handed stroke. Likely to outgrow the outfield, may move to first base.
 
Nick Kingham – RHP/1B, 6-5/210, R/R, 2010, Sierra Vista HS – Las Vegas, NV
Fastball was up to 89 and went with a sharp 72 breaking ball. An athletic defender with above average right handed raw power.
 
Thomas Lees – RHP, 6-0/175, R/R, 2010, Whitewater HS – Fayetteville, GA
84-88 fastball had excellent movement, showed excellent feel for his secondary stuff and advanced overall feel for pitching.
 
Ryan Moore – RHP, 6-1/175, R/R, 2010, Sheehan HS – Wallingford, CT
Featured a balanced, fluid delivery and ability to locate his 84-88 fastball in and out. Curve had tight spin and good depth.
 
Samuel Peterson – C, 6-0/185, R/R, 2010, DeRidder HS – Rosepine, LA
Showed among the best catch and throw skills at the event, along with advanced overall defensive skills in games. Handled the bat well also.
 
Bryan Soloman – 3B/RHP, 6-4/245, R/R, 2010, Memorial HS – Jackson, NJ
Though he struggled a bit in game at bats, his raw power and extension through contact were among the best at the event. Fastball was 84-87 with good command.
 
Arman Valenzuela – C, 6-1/175, R/R, 2010, Northview HS – Fontana, CA
Athletically built with good length to his frame, Valenzuela showed as a talented all around defensive catcher with solid offensive abilities. Verbally committed to Loyola Marymount University.
 
Bradley Wallace – RHP, 6-2/155, R/R, 2010, Woodlawn HS – Rison, AR
A lean and physically young right hander with a strong, loose arm. His fastball reached 90, and he spun a tight breaking ball up to 70 mph.
