18 Baseball Factory Alumni Play October Baseball

Baseball Factory would like to recognize the 18 former Baseball Factory and Team One participants competing in the 2008 Major League Postseason.

Baseball Factory and Team One alumni are featured on seven of the eight teams in the postseason this year.? From the National League wild-card Milwaukee Brewers, alumni include All-Stars C.C. Sabathia, J.J. Hardy, Ryan Braun, and Prince Fielder.?? On the National League Central Division Champion Chicago Cubs is former Baseball Factory and Team One participant Ryan Theriot.?? Despite their team’s recent elimination from the postseason, these players certainly made for an exciting National League division series.? Baseball Factory and Team One alumni Pat Burrell and Brett Myers will be playing for the National League Championship with the Philadelphia Phillies in what promises to be a thrilling series between the Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers.

In the American League, all four teams to enter the postseason featured former Baseball Factory and Team One standouts on their roster.? John Danks, Gavin Floyd, A.J. Pierzynski, and Carlos Quinten (DL), four past Baseball Factory and Team One participants now members of the Chicago White Sox, were recently eliminated from postseason play at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays.? Advancing to the American League Championship Series for the first time in franchise history, the Ray’s are led by former Baseball Factory and Team One participants J.P. Howell, Rocco Baldelli, and B.J. Upton.? Upton leads the Ray’s with three homeruns this postseason, including two solo shots in the clinching game of the divisional series.? Facing the Ray’s in the ALCS will be the defending World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox, who defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the division series.? The Angels roster featured three alumni from the Baseball Factory in Jeff Mathis, Mike Napoli, and Mark Teixeira.? Their postseason came to an end after the Boston Red Sox’s Jed Lowrie, a previous Baseball Factory and Team One player, hit a game-winning single in the ninth inning of Game 4 to send the Red Sox back to the ALCS.

Good luck to the remaining Baseball Factory and Team One alumni as the League Championship Series begin!
