Academic Development
Academic Specialist Bernadette Bechta, works to help you understand the necessity of preparing for the academic pitfalls that may occur, providing an outstanding resource and helping to answer the questions that families encounter regarding course selection for each academic year, ensuring there is a match between the student’s college list and the entrance requirements.

Player Development and Life Skills
The next chapter of life can be intimidating, learning to be around new people and developing new relationships, while adjusting and sticking to a daily routine. Randy Bednar – Director of Underclassmen, will work to help the player develop during the high school process, with improvement as the goal. These consultations and evaluations will guide the players so that they progress appropriately throughout the recruiting process.

Player Education
The process of choosing an academic and athletic fit for a player is complex. Our Exclusive Team will work with you to get the inside track on a college team, the culture of a school and finding the right personality match between player and coach. Our inside information results in getting the best fit to help each player develop as a student-athlete under solid tutelage.

Dan Mooney – Executive Director of College Recruiting
One of the most sought-after, well-connected college experts in the country, Dan has helped lead Baseball Factory to place more kids in college baseball than anyone else in America. Dan’s knowledge and background with college programs and knowing what it takes to get the attention of a coach is truly unparalleled.
After being drafted by the Chicago Cubs following his senior year at Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River, NJ, Dan decided to begin his collegiate career as a catcher at Brevard Junior College. He later transferred to the University of Florida where he redshirted for a season, before moving on to NC State University where he was a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer. Dan also played for the Harwich Mariners, in the highly-touted Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League. After college, Dan played professionally in the Boston Red Sox organization for three seasons, where he reached Double-A with the organization. Dan has assisted hundreds of players in reaching their goal of playing collegiate baseball and has developed relationships with college coaches across the nation through his career as a player and during his time here at Baseball Factory.
Bernadette Bechta – College Admissions Specialist
Bernadette serves as the main academic contact for all players and parents in the Exclusive Program. With over 20 years of experience as a teacher and advisor at the high school level, Bernadette will provide families with guidance on topics ranging from application essays to financial aid. In addition, Bernadette’s two sons have both gone through the Exclusive Program so she knows the ins and outs of the process from a parent’s perspective.
Harry Hillson – Recruiting Advisor
Harry Hillson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Exclusive Recruiting team. He will work along with our families to give players a snapshot through “the lens” of a former top college coach who recruited players for over 30 years at Mansfield University. Hillson retired in 2019 as one of the most successful coaches in NCAA Division II history. Hillson’s overall record of 892-701-2 ranks among the coaching elite in Division II. Hillson has the top seven single-season marks in MU history and is the only coach to win more than 30 games in a season, a feat he has accomplished 15 times, including a 44-win season in 1994. Hillson is currently the 31st all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division II history.
Randy Bednar – Director of Underclassmen
Randy Bednar brings a wealth of Player Development and Recruiting knowledge to our Underclassmen in the Exclusive College Recruiting Program. A student of the game and tireless worker, Randy was drafted out of High School by the Atlanta Braves after being named All-conference, All-State and IAC Player of the Year in the State of Maryland.
Randy chose to forego signing a professional contract out of High School and instead was a standout player for the University of Maryland for 4 years. As a 2-time Captain of the team he led the Terps in hits, RBI’s and doubles for consecutive years. He was Pre-season Big Ten Freshman of the Year and also named Second team All-Big Ten during his time at the U of Maryland. Randy played 3 years in the Seattle Mariners Organization and along the way had a chance to learn from Big Leaguers and top professional coaches.

Nate Nowlin – Recruiting Coordinator
Nate Nowlin comes to the Exclusive College Recruiting Program with extensive knowledge of high school baseball, college baseball, and the recruiting landscape. Nate attended and graduated from the University of Virginia. For four years, he learned extensively within their baseball program and was mentored by one of the winningest coaching staffs in the country. He was responsible for helping work with the pitching staff including catching a multitude of draft picks and MLB pitchers while also working closely with the coaching staff on a daily basis. Off the field, Nate assisted operations staff in all logistical aspects of the team and helped manage UVA’s data collection and operation that included baseball technologies such as Rapsodo, Trackman, and more.
In addition, Nate has coached varsity baseball for Central of Lunenburg High School in Virginia helping lead their team on the field as well as guiding their athletes through the recruiting process to procure offers for players ranging from Power 5 D1 to JUCO. From working camps at UVA and connecting with numerous college coaches, Nate has learned the collegiate recruiting process from high level division one programs and created a diverse network of collegiate coaches that give him an understanding of the necessary skills and needs of various college programs. In addition, Nate attended BF events such as Pirate City during his HS playing days.
